The Little Cat Cafe
You'll find our popular, family-run community cafe right next to the wildlife area – just follow the aroma of fresh coffee and pancakes! They serve delicious hot and cold drinks, cakes, snacks, breakfast and lunch, including healthy options for kids and using seasonal produce grown in the park’s greenhouse where possible. The Little Cat Cafe is also a social enterprise so a portion of their profits go straight back into maintaining the park. Melany, who runs the cafe together with daughter Eliza and son Omar, is a longstanding greenhouse volunteer. The cafe is normally open all year round from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Sunday, dependent on demand – if it’s raining and there’s no-one in the park, the cafe will be closed. During the summer they’re sometimes open later for live music and special events, keep an eye out for what's on.
The Little Cat Cafe can also help with catering events, drinks packages, lunches and more! Contact them on [email protected] or 07735 056138.

Kids
Relaxed and clean, with wide, buggy-friendly paths, Myatt’s is a great place to bring kids of all ages – whatever they’re into! Have a kick about on the grass, explore our wildlife area, and say hello to our resident bees. Or head straight to the playground for fantastic climbing frames, swings, zip wire and – from May to September – water play with jets and sprays that will make you howl with delight. We run activities and events for families throughout the year – including NaturActive, our summer fair, harvest and Christmas celebrations. The park is home to an urban nature preschool, The Mulberry Outdoor Preschool, which hosts free stay & play sessions for under 5s. The Mulberry Centre, where the preschool is based, is available to hire for birthday parties. We support local schools with their environmental education through the Natural Thinkers programme, greenhouse projects and volunteering activities.

Nature
You might be bang in the middle of one of the world’s biggest cities, but there’s a wealth of wildlife to discover here at the park. It's a great place to surround yourself with nature – from mature London Plane trees, spring time bulbs, our resident heron or night-time bats. Our wildlife area has a pond, fruit trees, woodland walk and wildflower meadow. In summer when the grass grows long, you're immersed in a sea of green. Frogs, foxes, butterflies and bats have all been spotted around these parts and if you look through the window in the far fence you’ll see our Bee Urban beehives. Click here for activity sheets about the flora and fauna in the wildlife area. Visit our community greenhouse, where our gardeners and volunteers grow vegetables, fruit and plants for the park and to support local growing projects or – even better – why not get involved yourself as a volunteer!
