Children's Birthday Parties at the Mulberry Centre
The Mulberry Centre is available for hire for children’s parties on Saturdays and Sundays. It is suitable for small parties up to 30 guests, for children under age of 12 years.
1. The Centre
The Mulberry Centre is suitable for a small children’s party up to 30 guests in total. For hire we offer a main playroom with tables and chairs (20 children chairs and 8 small tables, 8 adult size chairs and 2 large tables), small soft play area– if required, kitchen annex with a kettle and sink that you can use. Unfortunately, there are no cooking facilities at present (although we do intend to re-install these) and we are not able to supply cups, plates and cutlery, so please bring your own.
The whole garden area is included. We offer some outdoor toys for the parties bikes, trikes, balls, tunnels, sandpit sets. As per our hire agreement, we ask not to smoke and not to drink alcohol on premises. We also ask to remove the decorations and leave the Centre clean and tidy. Rubbish bags, brooms, mops and cleaning products are available in the Centre.
2. The Cost
On Saturdays and Sundays we offer two time slots for three hour parties:
* Saturday morning: 10am - 1pm at £90.00 (access from 9.30am for set up)
* Saturday afternoon: 2pm - 5pm at £90.00 (access from 1.30pm for set up)
* Sunday morning: 10am - 1pm at £90.00 (access from 9.30am for set up)
* Sunday afternoon: 2pm - 5pm at £90.00 (access from 1.30pm for set up)
We also require a £50 deposit on the top of the hire fee. The deposit will be returned to you after the party if there are no damages to the premises and the hire agreement has not been breached. Please note that delay in vacating the Centre may lead to keeping of the deposit (an additional £10 for every 20 minutes over your booking time). You can arrange to pay by cash or cheque payable to Myatt's Fields Park Project. If you pay by cheque please use separate cheques for payment and deposit.
Income from Centre hire goes towards children activities in the Centre and the Park.

You can make an appointment to look around the centre or to make a payment between 11am
and 1pm on Mondays.
4. The Caretaker
On the day of the party an assigned caretaker will open the premises for you. The caretaker will check and lock up the Centre after your party and will give your deposit back if there are no damages done to the premises and the contract has not been breached. We allow up to half an hour of setting up time, free of charge, but we ask our hirers to be ready to leave at 1pm/5pm sharp.
Please note that in winter months the Park is being locked at 4pm. Mulberry Centre has a separate exit straight to Calais Street.
5. Bouncy castle information
You are welcome to arrange for a bouncy castle for your party. We have a flat tarmac surface in the garden area suitable for standard size castles (up to 4mwide). Please make sure that the castle provider is fully insured, as equipment you bring in is not covered by us. We do not allow bouncy castles indoors.
